Finn was 3 ˝ years old
when he was surrendered to Arizona Golden
Retriever Connection. He was “too energetic and
they did not want to deal with him anymore.” Our
Foster Coordinator, Julie did his transport and
he stayed a couple hours at her house until his
foster got home from work. He did great with
Julie’s kids and was very tolerant of her new
baby. Two words best described Finn: Ball Crazy.
When Julie dropped Finn off at his foster home,
she walked out the door crying. Finn looked at
her like “Mom, why are you leaving me?” and
Julie felt like she had just given “her” dog
away. Sometimes you make an instant connection
with a dog and you just know they belong with
you. That was the case with Finn. The next day,
Finn came back to Julie’s house and as the
saying goes “the rest is history”
Finn made himself at home
and was the happiest when he was playing ball.
If no one was available to play ball, he would
go to the top of the stairs with two balls in
his mouth, drop one, watch it roll down, then
drop the other one and run down to get them both
and start the game all over again.
Today, Finn is still his
ball loving self and has mastered the three ball
mouth carry. He is working on the four ball
mouth carry.
