MORE GOLDEN TALES

Howdy, this is Capt. Lewis, also known as Sheriff Lewis. My brother Hey Joe is usually the one doing the writing, but at last I get to use my master’s degree in creative writing. Hey Joe is busily chewing on MY squeaker football. (To get even, I took Hey Joe’s baseball; check out the picture, where I am in front of my personal fan.) You may have heard of me, or perhaps greeted me during one of my personal appearances. I am one of the six famous Bowl-A-Rama dogs. I tell you, those Bowl-A-Rama stories have me reaching for the tissue box every time I read them. Please keep the donations coming for all the dogs! All you wonderful donors need to know how much it means to us. The folks at AZGRC have been the only ones in my life who ever truly wanted me. I can’t tell you much the past six months of life have meant to me. I emphasize the word “life,” because mine was going to end that cold January day when AZGRC saved me. I wanted to let you know that I am going to stay in my current home with Cindy and Hey Joe the chocolate Labrador. It is my forever home. I am loved, get to go on walks, and have a personal fan and a big yard for when I have my five-minute bursts of puppy energy. I saved the best news for last: I have beaten the odds I was given. I blew that forecast right out of the water. Two to five months? Whatever. My calendar says different. I am having a ball (tennis, baseball, etc.) with AZGRC and plan to stick around. If Hey Joe ever stops chewing on MY football, he might write again. I will continue my personal appearances, and you will hear from me again after Bowl-A-Rama!

With love and gratitude,

Lewis
