Hi!  My name is Thomas and I am a very big eight year old Golden Retriever. I was adopted to my new Mom & Dad in October 2007 and I love it here. Besides my Mom & Dad, I have a new brother, another Golden named Charley and we get along very well. I like to play with Charley and we both have lots of toys and we get some really neat treats! Mom & Dad take us for walks every day and when we are home I love to sit next to them while they are at the computer, or watching TV. Right now I am getting over a sickness called Valley Fever.  I don't feel too bad and my parents are taking good care of me so I  hope to be lots better very soon! For all of the dogs that are waiting to be adopted, I have something to say to you.  Hang in there.  There is a family like my parents out there for you, so it will happen. I'll keep my paws crossed for you!"

My Name Is Bentley       by Bentley

Last year I was part of a family and then one day my family left their home. I sat outside waiting and waiting for them to come back but they never did and it seemed that I was left to take care of myself. I was really sad and confused. Please come back and get me, don't leave me alone.

Later on a nice man saw me sitting outside all alone so he took me to his home while he helped me search for my family. After some time, it didn't appear that they were going to come and get me. I liked where I was staying because they had a Schnauzer and we became friends but sadly I was too big and so I had to move out.

A nice lady came to get in me in the early morning hours to take me to see a man named Dr. Aric. He is a Vet. He said he was going to fix me up. I am not sure why, I was in good shape but fix me, he did. Hummm, I am not so sure THAT was really necessary.

By late afternoon, I was on the move again with another nice lady who took me to meet my foster family. Will I like them, will the like me, will I get to stay forever? I met my new foster family and I liked them very much, they also had three Schnauzers - now I would have 3 more friends. But why do they keep calling me Bentley?

I was a bit nervous when I had to get back in the car the next day. Where am I going now? Please don't send me away again. This ride took a lot longer and we kept going up, up, up.  Finally when we stopped I was able to get out of the car and join my Schnauzer friends playing in a big open area with tall trees and snow. That was nice. And best of all, I got to go in the house and my foster family didn't leave me. I wasn't being left behind, yaay!! I was on my best behavior, as long as you don't count that one incident in the living room. Hey, with all the excitement, I just had to let it out.

I met new people and made new friends and whenever someone would ask what my name was my foster family would say Bentley.I like Bentley; it has a nice ring to it.  Can it be my name forever?

Every day just got better and better.  A couple of nights I even got to sleep on the bed just like the dog on the Petsmart commercial -- all stretched out - Nice!  I guess that didn't work 'cuz my foster Dad said there was no room for him - that's okay dad, you can have my pad in the laundry room, it's real comfy--oops, guess not. Now I get to sleep by the bed not on it, but that's okay, I am with my people.

One day my foster dad took me to work with him.  There were a lot of nice cars and people all dressed up in suits getting in and out of the cars. Are we getting a new car Dad, which one will be ours?I walked up to the one I really liked and my foster Dad told me to get in. I was happy to comply and jumped right into the drivers seat. Boy, did I look good. I even had my picture taken as I was sitting in the Bentley. A Bentley?! I'm sitting in a car named after me? I can't believe they named a car after me.

As it turned out, we didn't get the car (my foster dad said my foster sister and brothers and I would have get a job first) but I did get the Bentley wings to wear proudly on my collar to remember my special day in a car named after me. Oh yeah, and I did get my forever home too. My foster family is now my forever family. Life is good and I am very happy.
